#203 Fechterspiel Sword
Fechterspiel translates to "assault of arms"—an apt name for this western martial arts training weapon. Combining quality and historical accuracy, this sword is an excellent piece for the longsword practitioner looking for a period style and handling. The grip is covered in leather and has a slightly flared waist. The pommel and guard are finished in brushed steel and all are mounted on a blunt practice blade with a sturdy tang. The ricasso is full thick in the center and then steps down on the flanges to eliminate some weight from the blade and add a bit of style. The blade is a bit thinner in taper and profile than our #187 Fechtbuch sword which allows for a quicker action and some more flex in the blade. A good choice if one who is practicing mainly unarmored combat.
