This is the classic medieval shield style in use from 1100 to 1450. A direct descendant of the Norman kite shield, it took many forms and was made from both wood and steel. Our version is in 16 gauge steel with a hard handle and leather arm strap. This is the shape most often represented in heraldic books of the medieval period. A popular shield for stage combat.
