#185 Cut Steel Dagger
This is a fine example of a parrying dagger decorated in the 'cut steel' technique. The craftsmen chiseled the reclining figures, busts, and floral motifs into this hilt furniture often piercing completely through the structure. This leaves a dynamic looking piece of great beauty.
The grip is bound in steel wire and the parts are a bright brushed steel finish, highlighting the details of the carving. The hilt is mounted on a tapering double edged blade of diamond section with a rectangular ricasso.
