#166 Elizabethan Dagger
Linked to the court of Elizabeth the first, this is a quintessential lefthanded dagger for fencing in the rapier and dagger style. The exquisite detail on the pommel and guard are bright polished cherubs' heads with scrolls of vines and blossoms on a blue-black background. The guard has staright quillons and a center mounted ring. The grip is covered in twisted wire and bound top and bottom by turksheads. Almost certainly, no other dagger was more fashionable in the court of Elizabeth.
