#147 Iberian Mace
Simple in design andeffective in use the mace has been one of the most common weapons throughout history. From its earliest form of a large stick to the elaborate maces of state their are innumerable styles and types found in almost every culture. This interesting 13th century example from the Iberian peninsula was used in the constant conflicts of that era. It could have seen action with the Moors or possibly with El Cid's troops. The steel spiked head is mounted to an ash shaft.
