#049 Shifford Viking Sword
This sword is based on a 10th century original dredged from the Thames River at Shifford. The shape of the pommel and crossguard are faithfully reproduced, as is the characteristic short grip. The Vikings put their little finger over the pommel when gripping the sword. The authentically fullered blade, makes this sword light enough for the quick wrist movements needed for this style of combat without sacrificing strength.
