#011 Dragon War Hammer
Many impact weapons of the renaissance period were sculpted to represent mythical beasts. A prime example of the imagination and skill of the medieval weapons maker is this war hammer. The original has been attributed to the household of Francesco da Carrara, Signore di Venezia, c. 1380. The piece is a novel addition to any collection. The beast measures 6" from head to tail, and is mounted on a ash shaft.
Original: c. 1380 Italian, Venice.
